Family Fun

What a long week it has been!  During a rough week like this one you realize just how important it is to have great friends.  Karen was kind enough to let us invade her home and we had a great time playing just dance.  We thought it would be fun to pose for the camera just a few times....
This girls night was just what I needed.  Thanks ladies for being the best group of women that I could ever ask to work with!

Saturday was beautiful.  We just couldn't stay inside.  I started off by going to my Zumba class.  I'm use to only going at night, so the morning shift was a rude awakening!  Then we headed down to Millers to buy daddy a new weedeater.  He claims it was what he wanted for his upcoming birthday.  Seriously, it is all he has talked about this weekend.  He will be so excited when he finally gets to use it.
We hung out with Nini before I had to go work the Bergman Beauty Review.  I must say that all the girls looked absolutely beautiful.
I took a few pictures of Garon while we were going down the road.  He was in such a great mood....this surprised me because usually Garon + car seat = MAD BOY!  So I couldn't help myself.

Today we celebrated Mason and Landon's birthday at the church playground.  Nini pushed Garon in the swing.  He cried at first and apparently decided he could just suck his thumb instead.

Just by looking at the pictures I am sure you can tell we had a great time as always.  I can honestly say that I could hang out with my family 24/7.  Even though they all made fun of my new shoes...said I stole them from my granny!!  :-) Sarah stood up for me at least.  Don't know if that means she would wear them but she stood up for me.  So I can let you decide....here are my new shoes...Granny or not?? :-)

A Celebration!

Today Garon turned 11 months.  What a sad day it was for me.  I can't believe he is fixing to turn one, this year has flown by.  Today you are on day 2 of antibiotics and seem to be feeling better.  You now weigh 17 pounds and 14 ounces.  You are so little but you have the biggest pop belly just like your cousin Hayden.  This month you have really taken to walking.  Daddy doesn't think you will be ready by one, but I am betting yes.  So that means we have to practice.  You love to walk up and down the hallway, but you only think it's fun when someone is watching and cheering you on.  Otherwise you would prefer to crawl.
It's funny how things are different with your second child.  I bought Grady every baby toy that was made at Wal-Mart and he loved them all, but you have NO interest in your baby toys and only want things that belong to your brother.  You like to drive trucks and make the motor sound.  (it's precious) You love Grady's monster truck Grave Digger flag.  I laugh just thinking about that one...I can look over and not see you, but I can certainly see you flying that flag in the air.  It's bigger than you and I have no idea how you are able to wave it.
You are constantly on the go and could care less about being the center of attention.  You always let your brother steal the show.  You are happy to be down and free to move.
You have been noticing the word no no and now hesitate before you decide to take all the movies or books off the shelf.  Apparently you are not scared of us.  :)
You are still the happiest boy and your smile makes my day.  I love you Garon Daniel.  We didn't celebrate with cake, but we had ice cream!

Daddy and I bought Grady some preschool workbooks.  Grady is really good at saying things but I thought it was time to practice writing alphabets and numbers.  The book is awesome.  It came with stars and a chart for every day you do your lesson.  Let's just say that Grady completed 18 lessons out of 64 on day one.  Dan finally told him at 10:30 Saturday night that it was time to quit.  He was very upset.  He's learned how to use scissors and cut out things correctly.  He finds patterns, counts pairs, categorizes, etc...it's so amazing to see my boy doing such big things.

Tonight I asked you to help me cook a pizza for supper.  You wanted to do it all by yourself so I pretty much let you.  I rolled out the dough and put on the hamburger and you did the rest.  There was a big mess but you had a lot of fun.
Grady you are the best big brother that I know.  You always help me with Garon when I need you and I know that Garon already thinks the world of you.  He can recognize your voice from a mile away.  You are 100%  boy and I love it.  And I love you Grady Davis.

Whirlwind

What a whirlwind we have been in lately! Sunday morning Garon woke up with a low fever, yet, he was still such a trooper all day.  Like for instance, he still participated in dressing up in bubby's cowboy hat.  I think I have two pretty cute cowboys...or sheriffs...I'm really not sure, but they are cute!  By these pictures you sure wouldn't think he was sick.

Here he was totally showing off.  He had a puzzle and some alphabet soap.  Amazing what little things make children happy.
Daddy volunteered to stay home with Garon on Monday.  I called during my first recess break to check in.  Daniel said he was laying on his chest saying "mama" over and over.  I literally cried at that point.  We could definitely tell that he was miserable.  He wasn't cranky, just wanted to cuddle up in your lap.  We both made our way to the doctor appointment where we found out that Garon has an ear infection.  We also discovered that he now weighs 17 lbs and 14 oz.  Grow Garon Grow!!
Today was Mommy's turn to keep the boys, and Daddy's turn to be jealous!  Garon woke up early while Grady decided to sleep till 9:30.  Garon was in much better spirits and even managed to smile for the camera a lot today!
I started off strong and thought I was going to be supermom today.  Get my house clean, wash all the laundry, and even tackle a few things on my to do list.  That didn't quite work out.  Garon took a small nap and then decided that was all he needed for the day.  I decided those things were not so important and spent the day giving my full attention to the boys.
Grady and I treated ourselves to an oreo or two!  I couldn't resist sharing a few bites with little G.  I think it's safe to say that he definitely belongs to me.  He loves oreo's.  Grady actually snapped a good picture for us to have.

When bedtime came, Garon was so exhausted that he cried and cried.  It broke our hearts.  We tried rocking, singing, music, driving in the car....the list goes on and on.  And finally, when we got back home from the drive I just decided to lay him in his bed and he went straight to sleep.  Poor guy.  But I am happy to say that the drive around the block was not pointless, Grady fell asleep instead.  :-) I hope that both of my boys sleep tight tonight.  I love you both so much!

Today my Grandpa Davis turned 88.   Happy Birthday Papa! On our way over to Papa Davis' house, I am telling Grady that it's his Papa Davis' birthday.   Grady says, "Mom, Papa has my name.  Grady Davis."  How was I suppose to explain to him that it was the other way around?? :) My Grandma and Grandpa are two very wonderful people.  It makes me so happy to go to their house and see them spoil my kids just like they did me when I was little.  I took my camera for pictures but realized I had no SD card when I got there.  Uggh...go figure. On the way home Grady said something that I want to remember forever.  He said, "Mom, I have like 10 Grandma's and Papa's.  Isn't that cool?"  I actually got teary eyed again just thinking about how lucky he really is.  Grandparents give the best love!

Tomorrow Garon turns 11 months old.  Can we please slow this month down...
